Teacher Spotlight: Savannah Bourke – Voice, Songwriting and Dance

“They [students] are not afraid to share anything and they do it through music and they do it with power.”

Savannah Bourke is an instrumental instructor at the Academy of Music for the Blind. Her approach to empowering students to be vulnerable and express themselves honestly through song serves the core purpose of AMB. Savannah connects with students beyond academics and enables them to alchemize their experiences into to compelling music. Additionally, Savannah shows the students how to physically embody the feeling that magic feeling that music gives us all.
